Headlights flash on and off repeatedly. Why?

I have 98 Dodge Ram 1500 and after about 5 minutes the headlights will turn off, then a couple seconds later back on and continue like that for awhile. Then they stay on for a few minutes and start doing it again. I was told if when my high beams are off, if the symbol is still slightly illuminated it is something with my bulb. Is there any truth to that? Or what could my problem be? It is not an issue with a ground.

Did you already run new ground wires to the bulbs? If not you have no clue if it's a ground or not.

The headlight switch might also be the culprit.

Why not give them a rap with your knuckles? Loose filaments are QUITE common.
