How would one go about “coming out” to Christian parents and catholic friends? Or do I even have to?

Tell your parents and friends that you were born gay.

If they can't accept that, tell them all to **** off.

You are called to repent of sin and turn to Jesus Christ and live and not celebrate it and if you do so, you are only demonstrating your hatred of God. Anyone telling you how to celebrate depravity is under the wrath of God as you currently are. There is forgiveness in Jesus Christ, but you are not to remain in your sin and celebrate it.

It's not really necessary for most people. On tv they always have a big coming out ordeal where everyone is uncomfortable. IRL just be yourself. Why does everyone have to know your sexual preferences? Would you talk about your sexual preferences with your parent if you were heterosexual? I wouldn't. Just be who you are. But you know your family and circle of friends better than anyone else.

You don't HAVE TO. I wouldn't, if it means making your life easier. I know that's a crappy thing to say, because I don't feel like anyone should have to hide their sexuality. But I've also seen friends who have had coming out to their very religious family go very wrong. Very. Wrong. So, I would wait until you're older, on your own. When they can't make you homeless, and can't send you to a camp where they think they can pray the gay away. It happens.
