Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

    The non consumable part of the lemon rind & the oils within it are the principal ingredient of dishwashing liquid,not the fleshy inner part

    The artificial flavor has a longer and more stable shelf life. That does not matter with dish soap which uses the non-juice part of the lemons.
