Yeah, they do tend to bond more with one person they see as their pack leader

Most human family dogs have a human of that family, who they regard as their leader, who will most likely be their favourite human.
Even if others feed it and walk it, its main allegiance will be to who it regards as its leader, who is more often a person with a confident and calm and authoritative attitude towards life.
A dog in a one human household has no choice of who it`s leader is and sometimes it can view a person that is not part of its owners household as its favourite person, if that person shows more leadership skills than its owner. eg: the dogs trainer. Or a regular visitor.
Dogs are not always as loyal to their owner as we tend to think.
I remember a couple of dogs at my training venue that would happily follow the trainer without a backward glance at their owner and they were always ecstatic with joy to see him, and worked ( obeyed commands)100% better for him than they did for their owner.
All because he oozed strong leadership and their owners did not.

OK, even with all these questions, I'll bite, for now. Most dogs know who is the main 'giver' in a situation and gravitate to him/her. And it's usually about whoever feeds the dog although hounds will often go to the one person who takes them out on exercise too.
