What is the  best 5 mare or filly of all time?

In no particular order:

Genuine Risk

Ruffian

Eight Belles

Zenyatta

Winning Colors

Zenyatta would be at the top of my list, John. She only lost once in her entire career at the track, and she actually won the BC Classic one year. Since her retirement, she has gone on to become an outstanding broodmare.

Right behind her would be the following mares:

Royal Delta ( a two time winner of the DE handicap and BC Distaff, by Empire Maker)

Chasing Yesterday (a full sister to Triple Crown and Grand Slam winner American Pharoah)

Go For Wand ( a brilliant filly who tragically lost her life during the 1990 BC Distaff at Belmont Park)

Ruffian- perhaps the greatest filly of all time, who paid the ultimate price for her owners' arrogance and greed in 1975.

That's very subjective but Ruffian in my opinion was and could have been if it hadn't of been for human greed and price. Do some research because it's so subjective.
