Poll: Are you for or against abortions 🤔?

Okay, so basically I have to write an essay on whether I'm for or against abortions. However, I'm curious on other people's perspective 🤔? I'm pro-life and completely against abortions, as well as the death penalty.

There is little less moral than bringing an unwanted, unloved, possibly damaged life into the world.

Forcing a woman to continue with an unwanted pregnancy is like torturing her. I consider that immoral. Don't you?

Recent research has proven that stress in pregnancy causes life-long psychological damage to the foetus. What could be more stressful than being denied an abortion when you want and need one? That policy IMPOSES lifelong damage on the unborn child.

An unwanted child will, on average, have a less rewarding, less productive life typified by mental health problems and brushes with the law. That is a terrible life to impose on anyone and it was always totally unnecessary.

In an ideal world, abortion would not be necessary. It is not an ideal world and neither you nor I can make it ideal. There will always be drunken mistakes; young people without adequate sex education; incest; rape; drug addled people who are unfit to be parents and who may pass on their mental problems; lack of access to reliable, affordable contraception; failed contraception; hereditary disabilities/diseases; dramatically changed family circumstances; foetal abnormalities .... There are lots of reasons abortion may be the least bad, most moral course of action.

Abortion is also very sound economically. The cost saving to the tax payer is MASSIVE, and would be even if every abortion was taxpayer funded.

The social benefit of not forcing a sad, troubled life on loads of unwanted kids is massive.

There are no rational arguments against abortion. There are emotional arguments or arguments based on unjustified religious dogma. What are yours based on?

You claim to be 'pro-life' but you are not pro the life of the unwilling mother? You are not pro the quality of life of the unwanted child? How many of the unwanted babies will you personally look after and pay for, for their whole lives? I suggest you are not pro-live but pro-dogma. You have an emotional commitment to an idea that you have been conditioned into.

You are free not to have an abortion if you don't want one though many alleged pro-life people do have abortions when they find themselves in a awkward situation. That is your choice based on your opinion. What right do you have to impose that opinion on anyone else?

There is a no such thing as a right to life. There is only the right not to have your life unlawfully ended once you have been born. Abortion is done BEFORE a person is born, before they are conscious and before they are sentient. The foetus loses nothing it ever had.

On balance I believe the right to abortion is entirely moral (religious dogma is not morality) and an unfortunate if valuable contribution to society.

Shame your mother agreed it seems.

Only a fascist, misogynistic state would ban abortions. IF men got pregnant they would be available everywhere, all the time...

I don't like the idea of someone having an abortion simply because they don't want to be inconvenienced with an unwanted pregnancy.  ("Oops, I'm pregnant!  No worries, I can fix that!")   I would hope she and her partner would consider giving the child up for adoption.

That said, I DO believe a woman has the right to choose.  With choices come consequences, some choices lead to more favorable consequences than others.

While I would try convincing people I care about to avoid them I am not against other people having that option.

I am generally conservative in my viewpoints but on this issue I don't care. Frankly, there is already way too many people on this planet and most of them I wish weren't here. It could reduce the spread of pollution and damage to the environment if the population were better managed.

Abortion is a very complicated issue and I have a myriad of thoughts about it.

Over all though, I am pro-choice in the way that I believe the option needs to be available up front, on demand, and at any time. Straight up telling a woman she HAS TO deliver a child is absurd.

Now, does that mean that I think abortion is 'okay' and 'normal' and something to be proud of? No, not at all.

There are many moral loopholes in the abortion argument that are completely asinine.

  • Lol you again? Yeah I don't agree with abortions. But the death penalty is a different story.

I am against healthy babies being aborted when sick people have to suffer until they die . Stupid world . If I was a female I guess I would not allow anyone to tell me what to do with my body , especially a man .
