Why do I act guilty even when I’m not?

I show suspicious behavior and act guilty when accused of or if it is implied that I’ve done something even if I haven’t

Some sort of weird psychological thing I’m sure but I don’t understand why I do it.

For examples, when crossing over the Canadian border I’m asked if i’m Carrying any illegal substances, which I’m not, but I get flustered and start speaking at a different pitch, it would be hilarious if it wasn’t so embarrassing.

I was selling my house which didn’t have any plumbing issues at the time but when the buyer seemed unsure about it, I behaved defensively as though trying to cover something up.

i really do not know,  an innocent person tends to not act guilty unless they really are.

People are generally inclined to feel disturbed

when any  others treat them as suspects

particularly if the others are officials or Government authorities.

You aren`t alone in getting freaked a little if stopped at a border... ..
