Will medicare pay for a shower chair for an elderly woman who cannot balance herself?

    Medicare covers a shower chair for medically necessary reasons. She has to get a prescription from the doctor and the medical equipment company will provide it. If and when she no longer needs that chair, it has to be returned to the medical supply company. I got one after surgery 3 years ago and still have it.

    Or medicaid. Check in with the senior center/dept of aging.

    should... call the help line... also the Dr's office might know... also the store that sells them

    They might, but you can buy a nice one on Amazon for about 28 dollars.
