    The LCD of two denominators:

    2x + 8 and (x + 4)²

First, factor what you can.  The first denominator has 2 as a common factor and there is nothing to do on the second.  That gives us:

    2(x + 4) and (x + 4)²

The first has a "2" that the second doesn't and the second has an (x + 4) that the first doesn't (after taking into account the shared (x + 4).  So the LCD is:

    2(x + 4)²

Your answers are the first and fifth options from your multiple choice.

    2x+8 = 2(x+4)

    (x+4)^2

    x^2-x-20 = (x-5)(x+4)

    The answers are 2, (x+4)^2 and (x-5)

(x+4) isn't an answer choice and it's already included as a factor in (x+4)^2
