How come I see more Christmas white lights now than colored lights?

Most people and businesses used to display colored lights primarily, but now it seems white lights are the norm today.

Because they can be used for a variety of things.  For instance, in my city, they rarely take them off the trees in parks and turn them on for various celebrations, like "concerts in the park" in summer and such.

If you go to a southern state with racism there are likely more white lights.

It is because of pure racism.

Trends change over time and I don't think it has anything to do with racism .

  • It's just fashion.  Now Christmas lights are LEDs, it's actually cheaper to make them red, green, yellow or blue.  However white or blue are what's generally available.  I have a set of multicoloured LED lights for my tree - I got them cheap last January.
