Are heat exchangers considered a type of air conditioning?

    a heat exchanger may be a part of an air conditioning system I wouldn't say type more a component

    A heat exchanger is used . The refrigerants heat is removed in the coils by blowing air over the coils.

       But ac is not really considered just a heat exchanger by most
