You could try to show youur qualities! You have to show who you really are.
Sometimes we are why or afraid of being who we are, because we think people will judge us. However, it's important to understand that our good and real friends are going to appear and love us considering who we are naturally, with no fakes.

By making an attempt to befriend this person, just don't be to over the top or assertive.

A substantial cash gift will usually change a person's mind in cases like this. At least temporarily.
