Does anyone know the name of this book?

This may be a very vague description but I remember reading this book in high school. Its a book set in Toronto Canada about a kid that works at the TTC lost and found. Something along those lines. He basically finds a book with female names and descriptions of them. He goes to find these girls and tries to pinpoint who the writer of the book was and is a thriller/mystery kind of theme.
