is there an external card reader for my digital camera that can be plugged into a UBS port?

My old computer (Windows 7) had a card reader that I inserted in the computer that took pictures off my camera and on to my computer using Photo Smart.My new computer (Windows 10 )doesn't have a card reader. How can I get the pictures off the camera? Is there such a thing as an external card reader????I'm not a computer geek so I need detailed instructions, Thanks in advance

    Yes they sell external card readers at any Walmart. You purchase one you slide your card into it and you plug the reader into any USB port.

    Yes.  You can buy SD card readers for between 7 and 15 dollars on Amazon.
