How much do you charge for edibles?

If you have a medical card and wanna start making a selling edibles to certain people, what would you typically charge? If you're making gummies for instance, how much do you put in a bag and what do u sell it for?

If you're making cookies, what do you sell them for and how many in a bag?

I'm wondering if it's really even worth doing because, buying the cannabis from a dispensary is already expensive

The high cost of cannabis purchased retail is prohibitive in making a profit selling edibles. On the other hand people who "grow their own" only sell the buds so there is a large amount of "trim" (leaves) without too much value but perfect for making potent edibles.

I see you know nothing about edibles.

You need to do some research and learn how to MAKE them before you ask about selling them.

    Here is what you do:

First ask people YOU know how much they would pay for a bag of XXX size (you have to show them the bag, so that they know how much is in it).\

THEN you add up all your costs: costs of supplies, costs of having or renting a board-certified kitchen (it is illegal to make and sell food if your kitchen has not been certified by the board of health, and that means you need stainless steel counters AND a sterilizer).

So you take how much it costs you to produce these edibles and subtract your costs from that. This is your profit. Remember to deduct income taxes and your business license off your profit.

THEN you take how many hours it takes you to make and sell these edibles, and divide your profit by those hours. IS that a wage you can live with? If you are doing this just for spare money, your full time job will not allow you the time to make enough money to make it worthwhile. If you are trying to do this for your primary income, what you get, per hour of your time, may not be enough to support you.

(Generally speaking, food production has to be in the thousands before it can generate enough income to support the owner).
