What are your thoughts about Bakersfield, California?

I used to see the off ramps for it when I used to take Hwy 99 but now I only take i5. I don't remember Bakersfield as any better than a gas stop.

It's a bastion of sanity in the Tarnished State.

It’s hot and one of the most conservative areas of California.

I'd never want to live there, but then again I'd never want to live in most of the Central Valley.  Good music though.

I like it , spent many weeks there over the years

Din't remember much from my time there back in 1955 as ai was in grade school.
