Is it weird to be alone at a sit down restaurant?

Go for it! My best fun is to go to a restaurant by myself with a book or really expensive magazine, order a meal and just relax, read and people watch. Totally takes the strain off of trying to be social, and no restaurant can deny you a meal for being by yourself.

It isn't weird but you may or may not be comfortable dining alone.

No not at all- We've all seen on the T.V. people sitting at a table alone, reading or just people watching, ask for a table near a window to look out or in a cozy corner. I have gone out alone many times, I do enjoy my own company!

Not weird, some people eat alone at restaurant. It depends....if all guests are eating with friends, family, or lover at a restaurant, you might look weird. 

Some people will judge.   Only do this in places that no one you know will go to.   Fast food restaurants are okay, though.

Nope. I enjoy being single, and eat alone.

I feel that way also if I'm out at night fine dining. Restaurants have that solved today by going to the bar inside the establishment. They serve food there now, at least over the last 20 years. Try that.

It's, not a big deal to sit alone at a restaurant. I would think it happens all the time in new york. I eat a restaurants by myself all the time. Now if you feel like it draws too much attention and it kinda worries you a bit. Just go sit at the bar area. they usually have raised seating and it's a comfortable area especially if it's higher price point dining, much more relaxed. 

Don't even give it a second thought. Go have fun and eat good. Bring a book too if you want something to read. Walk around afterwards too...good luck !!  PS...you can flirt with the pretty waitress too if you're alone.
