Is it illegal in Florida for a dentist to have a relative as a patient?

I'm told that it is not legal for a dentist to see or treat a family member. Is this true?

I don't see why that would be illegal.

There are NO laws in ANY US state that prohibit a licensed professional from having a relative as a client. There may be ethics rules within the profession, but not laws. As a general rule, the reason for any such restriction would be conflict of interest, which isn't inherent in being related. The closest to a blanket prohibition would be in legal cases where one relative was on the opposing side from the other.

No....this is not illegal. But it may be considered unethical for doctors to do so. But no against the law.

Sorry but your relative the dentist is just making that up. He or she just doesn't want to treat you.

Not at all, most Dentists treat their own families. Why would they pay to go elsewhere.

It is NOT illegal in Florida or anywhere else for a Dentist to treat a family member.

I trust that your relative, the Dentist, has refused to treat you?
