“Hey you’re beautiful” isn’t too far off the mark from the most efficient way you could do it, but don’t bother with that if you aren’t used to it because how you say it matters more than what you say. Saying “hey you’re beautiful” in a dead serious or lovestruck way will do more harm than good. You’re better off starting with “Hey how’s it going? What’s your name? Let me grab your number.” How you say these things still matters more than anything else but there are less ways to screw up with them. Realize that she’s gonna take the hint and know why you’re talking to her, so keep the vibe playful rather than uptight, and make sure to lead because she probably won’t do much to help you keep the conversation going until she warms up a bit. If you find yourself being tense don’t ask for the number and instead ask her what courses she’s taking or something and if things recover go for the number then; if they don’t recover tell her it was nice meeting her and talk to her another time.
