What does Boomer mean?
I have a friend that calls me a boomer. I am really confused, what does it mean?

There are two answers. The current vogue is a reference to the Baby Boomer generation that came about in the decade following the end of World War II. Roughly born in the decade following 1943.
The other, more obscure definition is persons from Oklahoma. Prior to the land run of 1903, some persons went across the start line days before the land run. These were called Boomers. Those who got a head start on the day of the race were called Sooners. The University of Oklahoma fight song is "Boomer Sooner".
