I'm not sure what the current situation is, as our military now consists or volunteers

The Canadian Rangers have no hair regulations.  We (i am one) are mostly a citizen militia, made up of experts in the bush in remote areas of Canada.  A large proportion  of our members are natives.  We are technically military, but, we are not like the rest of the Canadian Forces at all.
