What is the 'push' called?

If you connect a piece of metal to earth (ground) the metal pushes EMFs away from it. What is this 'push' called?

The push is called 'Current' and is the flow of electrons to ground that is positively charged. Voltage is the pressure.

Ok so it doesn't push anything away, but EMFs and RFs do steer clear of it don't they?

It is called BS. CURRENT, not grounding, produces an electromagnetic field. That field interacts with any other electromagnetic field in the area, but it is AT BEST a mischaracterization to say it 'pushes' anything away.
