A few months ago, I had an allergic reaction to some medication I took and I had severe itching daily.?

I went to a dermatologist and she gave me prednisone to take for it. Well, I took the prednisone and it stopped most of the itching but I am still itching a little every day. This little itching is a daily nuisance it has been going on for months and it has not cleared up. I went back to the dermatologist and she said she could not give me any more prednisone but she could refer me to go see an allergist. She also told me I could take benadryl for the itching bit I can t take benadryl because it is an antihistamine and I am allergic
