no. ironically i do work in a senior living facility BUT as a cook. this one is the biggest in my state and very expensive due to location and what they offer. it has 2 kitchens as well.

for us as the cook we do pretty much work cooking all day. we serve 7 dishes per sitting 2 of the dishes rotate every sitting and 4 of it rotate daily. we need to prep all 7 as well as dish it out. i work the hard kitchen so we get all the harder items to prep and some of these menu items have a lot of ingredients.

not to mention we run out of ingredients all the time cause people here dont know how to order or are cheap and dont order enough. then you got to deal with lazy coworkers that dont prep like yesterday i worked with this lazy mfers 1 being a sous chef. all she did in her 8 hour shift is make 1 sauce, make soup, and fish. the other guy didn't really have to prep but if he did i';d be screwed today. so today were screwed cause she didn't prep shet we have some hard dishes to make for dinner too plus got to prep for tomorrow ontop of that.

for the dish washers it's no different only 1 dish washer per shift. you call in sick then the guy working or not working is screwed. you got to prep mostly easy prep but time consuming. then you got to wash dishes. there is a LOT.. of dishes i think we serve 400 residents total with majority being served at once while the rest is either take out or assisted living meaning they eat earlier cause they need help from nurses or not really nurses but like some medical aid. best part though is they can rack up lots of over time.

for us we can rack up major over time as well but corporate gonna scold us lol. too much work to do in a single day not enough people or ingredients so fk um. it's an easy job given the menu items are easy like today the dishes are easy but the prep is hard for tomorrow since we still need to prep dinner for tonight.

other places i think are smaller then ours my sister works as a care taker i guess she'd call it but the places she work at isn't as big as this one and they dont have much variety.  7 dishes every single day and meal is a lot. not to mention they can order off the menu. they want pb n j sandwich we have to make it for them if we can. if they want something ridiculous like sushi and we not serving sushi we wont make it. they can be very picky though some want certain vegetables only that are pre mixed into the dish all sorts of little things they like that we got to do.
