Flea meds for dogs?

If I have a dog that weighs 11 lbs and I give it a flea pill for up to a 10 lb dog.  Should it work?

OTT flea treatment is either useless or toxic.so you are wasting your money.......if you are flea treating your dog go to your vet and get the correct treatment AND if the dog already has fleas then your home will be full of them live and eggs, so until you deep clean the property and get rid of them all or the dog will still get fleas ... and it is very likely it also has worms which also need treating by the vet as well

Not if you haven't gotten rid of the flea infestation in the house & the yard. You give him meds to get rid of fleas & it doesn't work because you keep putting him right back into the infestation.

I have never had flea problems but I have had a tick infestation & I treated the yard & house & got rid of them. If there are no ticks to get on my dogs, I have no need to put poisons in & on my dogs. I have elm trees & they are a natural de-wormer, so I don't even have to deal with internal parasites.

Until you can get rid of the infestation, there isn't much you can do for your dog. All kinds of products out there that just don't work. People spend thousands of dollars on these products. They don't tell you how to fix the problem but they will claim to keep them off the dog. Flea/tick has to get on the dog before it can kill a flea/tick from the stuff you pushed down his throat.

I can recommend a product that I used back in my dog grooming days. I used it on clients dogs as well as my own & everything was sprayed to get rid of them. 'Happy Jack Kennel Dip 11'. google it. The poison is a fast kill & has a residue that lasts a while.

Using it as a yard spray, a in home spray & as a dip on heavily infected dogs. I cannot find it in stores here so I ordered it in. Google it, read about it & get your dog some more help.
