Can I go to traffic school by myself at 17?
Hello everyone I got a traffic ticket for going 18 over the speed limit and the court said I’m eligible for traffic school to take the point off so it wouldn’t affect my insurance rates. The only question I have is would I be able to take care of all this myself or would a parent have to get involved? I’d like to keep this as discreet as possible.

You can attend traffic school without having to "go" anywhere, with or without a parent. Many traffic schools now offer online options, which are more private and faster. If you "go" to a traffic school, the class is 8 hours. But if you do home study or an Internet course, you just have to read some stuff, at your own pace, and pass a multiple choice test.

You may go yourself, as you are the driver. Sooner the better otherwise your insurance company will know and thus your agent.

That depends on the state. Also, traffic school can be done online, but you would need a credit card for that.

Call the court and ask the clerk. Call the traffic school the court referred you to.
Only way to know is to ask those in the know. And you know we are not in the know here, since you know, you did not let us know where you are... you know?
(sorry - it's Friday.. in a mood. =_) First two sentences were serious. Rest is just frivolity).
