What ever happened to the garden of eden and the tree of life? ?

By the floodwaters from heaven covering the whole earth it got destroyed. Genesis 7:17 The flooding continued for 40 days on the earth, and the waters kept increasing and began carrying the ark, and it was floating high above the earth. 18 The waters became overwhelming and kept increasing greatly upon the earth, but the ark floated on the surface of the waters. 19 The waters overwhelmed the earth so greatly that all the tall mountains under the whole heavens were covered. 

It exists in the spiritual realm, not in our earthly realm.  Adam was kicked out of the garden and his way was barred by Cherubim and flaming swords if you read about it in Genesis 3: 22 - 24) - well no cherubim or flaming swords exist in our earthly, material, visible realm.  Those are spiritual things which exist in a spiritual place

probably destroyed in the flood.

Exactly the same as happened to Narnia and Middle Earth.

Obviously the tree died, as all vegetation does eventually.

Eden#1 where 1 river divided into 4 heads.

Eden#2 where 4 rivers formed into 1 head.

Eden#1 was in Africa. Lot referred to it as the "Garden of the Lord" in Genesis. After the so called "fall", Adam felt forced to leave Eden#1 and venture over 1000 miles east in search of the second garden (Eden#2) in Mesopotamia.

Militaries have bomb much of the gardens. There was no literal tree, not sure what the figurative meaning is but it would have been located in Eden#1

After Adam’s banishment from the paradisaic garden, with no one to cultivate it and to take care of it, it may be assumed that it merely grew up in natural profusion with only the animals to inhabit its confines until it was obliterated by the surging waters of the Flood, its location lost to man except for the divine record of its existence.

Lost to time and the deluge.
