Depends on how many Swedish kroners you can buy with it.

But don't travel with cash. Change a couple of hundred dollars into Swedish kroners, and otherwise use you ATM card to get cash from the machines - talk to your bank first - and use credit cards. You'll need the cards with the chips and four-digital numeric codes. Visa or Mastercard are best.

Don't use cash in Sweden. The entire country has gone cashless.

No, You have to exchange your dollars for Swedish Krona. The best option is at a bank where you have an account.

  • Travel to Denmark. At least they love the USA! Sweden isn't worth it. They are too liberal there and they hate Americans.

The USD is about as much use in Sweden as Krona are in the US.

In both countries though you can exchange your foreign currency for domestic currency at banks and Bureaux de Change (Money exchanges)

You should never travel with a lot of cash. Use your ATM card to take out Krona once you're there. Or use a credit card and pay it off after you get back. Things are a little more expensive in Sweden than in the US, but you can find reasonable places to eat.

    YES it has value.

NO ONE needs to accept foreign currency. They can and charge any exchange rate they want.

You get best value at a bank or currency exchange. Be aware there is a FEE for each transaction.

Suggest you have about $100-200 worth of Swedish Currency for your first few hours on arrival. That is about 1000-2000 Swedish Krona. Your bank can arrange this for you. This is for the small things to get you from the airport to your first stop.

Not the best idea to have so much cash. Up to you.

Most use their bank cards and take money from their US account from a bank machine in Sweden. The machine gives you Swedish currency.

YOUR BANK can explain the fees and which banks they deal with for best FEES using the ATM.

Swedish Airport officials expect a REASONABLE amount of financial resources to cover your REASONABLE plan for your time in Sweden.

Waving your passport is not an entry to Sweden pass just your identification.

You have to change it to Krona (not Euro) when you arrive or before you leave on your trip.

Although Sweden is a EU member, they do not use Euros, they have their own currency, the Krona. You can exchange dollars for kronor in Sweden or before you go in America. $2,000 is around 19,500 kr.

Although it's always a good idea to use your credit card.
