1099-Misc Tax Question.  Law Firm, Reporting Medical Liens for clients - how does this work?  ?

    The law firm gets a piece of the action for representing you.  The lien formalizes its claim.

    A medical lien is not income, it's a legal recognition of a debt.

    The cancelation of a debt is a different form.
