How can you change your gender if already identify as the gender you want to change into?

Gender identity exists entirely in the brain. If you identify as a female, that's your gender identity, without regard to what's in your underwear.

Not every trans woman gets or even wants gender reassignment surgery or hormone replacement therapy. What they mainly want is to be thought of by others as they think of themselves, as women.

They can't change Genders

I've been earnestly assured the penis is a biological female organ now, as long as it's on the body of someone who identifies as female.

You don't change your gender by getting a sex change.  When you change your sex to match your gender then you are a TRANSSEXUAL.  Someone who changes their gender does not have surgery.  Gender is a mental construction.  Sex is a physical reality.

Most discussions everywhere about "transgenders" are actually speaking about "transsexuals".  For whatever reason, people want to change their SEX to match their gender rather than TRANSition their GENDER to match their physical SEX.
