    Poor trolling attempt. It's spelled "clothes". To answer the question, you "could" use it I suppose, but why not just use laundry soap/detergent?

    It isn't going to hurt the clothing.  The problem is that the soap probably isn't as concentrated a detergent and it will create a lot more suds. You have a lots of boggles and your close won't get as clean.

    It's how people used to wash their clothes a long time ago, nothing to be worried about.

    If you are washing in the sink or a wash basin, soap is fine--just work the soap until you see lots of suds.  Be sure to rinse out the clothes thoroughly.

    Handsoap won't work very well in a washing machine.
