What supplies do you recommend to stay safe while camping out?

By this, I mean camping in the woods. My friends and I are planning a trip around April. Personally, I have experience with camping. I tend to do a good job at staying a fair distance from wild animals and keeping myself safe, but with a larger group, I figure it's safer to ask.

Don't keep, prepare, or eat food near where you sleep and hang out, and don't sleep or hang out near where you keep, prepare, or eat food.

No random pooping in the bushes. Designate a latrine and dig a good hole. Use hiker's toilet paper.

Use a water bag or other container to create a hand washing station. Add an old nylon stocking with a big bar of hard soap in the toe and a small scrub brush on a string.

Nobody leaves the camp area without (1) emergency supplies like map, compass, fire, water, knife, e-blanket, etc, AND (2) a buddy.

Don't take responsibility for others being safe and/or comfortable unless you have authority to exclude those who cannot or will not do what they need do the be safe, be comfortable. Do an inspection to make sure everyone has bug juice, sun screen, a drinking water vessel, a knife, and other basics.

Discuss division of chores well before the trip. I still think with horror of that camping trip 40 or more years ago where one of my companions declared "I'm on vacation; I'm not hauling water, not washing dishes." We ended up having a fist fight which didn't settle anything and left us both with multiple minor injuries.
