Call the police and report it.

We called the police and filed a report. About 3 weeks later we got back most of my jewelry and 2 TV's. That was 6 years ago and we now have a very good alarm system.

That has happened to me, well the burglary anyway.

I first did a quick search of the house so see if anyone was still there (I had my conceal carry pistol with me) and to secure the pets.  Then I went to check that my gun safe hadn't been broken into - luckily it hadn't been.  They stole mostly electronics (video game systems, games, a tablet, and some of my roommate's jewelry.)

Then I called the cops.  Cops came, took a statement, did a basic investigation and took fingerprints.  Then I called my home insurance company and started that whole process.  Had to get some plywood and stuff to secure the back door (that's where they broke in.)  Luckily, the police were actually able to catch the people responsible and recover some of the stolen property.  I've since installed a security system along with video surveillance coverage around the outside of the house.

If I had been at home at the time when it happened I would have introduced them to my shotgun.

  • Wonder what they possibly could have wanted.

There's hardly anything in my house.

First, call the police then call the insurance company.

Would be kinda hard to do when it's always crowded.

    Good luck, Chuck.
