The Red Cross have 70 million
The RFS have 50 million but in their case they cannot legally spent the money on any thing except fire fighting equipment . That is the Trust rules .
So yes the Red Cross stink

Hum. Look at all of the disasters in recent memory. It's all red tape and corruption. When money comes in, someone always wants to handle the money because they know best and then the money eventually disappears and Haiti looks the same today as it did the day of the earthquake. People donate with good intentions but very few charities actually do what you think they will do.
This is why I very rarely donate to charities. You think they're going to help a particular cause but either they offer very little help or they have restrictions that only help a few people.
You would literally be better off chartering a helicopter and throwing hundred dollar bills over the city

BushFIRES? I thought a bushfry might be something VERY Australian since there are some very unusual things out there. Contact your local government for more information on this. I don't know much about this, but feel for you if you are having this trouble. Perhaps you can do enough investigating to help others in your same situation.

Maybe, the devastation is so vast, the money just doesn't cover it, but you should go public on this, even contacting news programs so everyone is aware of it. I am actually tired of Dateline and 20/20 constantly showing murder mysteries, when something like this should be discussed.
