Does anyone have any experience with the reusability of medium to small-sized plastic soda bottles, like 12 oz to 20 oz? Do they?

last many times with opening and closing the cap, and not develop a leak?

Numerous but recommend that u wash/rinse, let the bottle dry completely between uses.

I've got a 20-oz store-brand 'Gatorade' bottle sitting right here, they I refill with tap water half a dozen times or so before I recycle it. Would probably be good for many more uses. The same store-brand spring water in 16.9 oz bottles that I buy, my wife never reuses them but I'll refill them from the tap while I'm working here upstairs, rather than going down for a new one. When I was working, I used to freeze a couple at work overnight and a couple more at home, so that my two bottles would last me until lunch, which I went home for, and I'd refill them and stick them in my freezer, take the two from home with me and refill them at the end of the workday and stick them in the freezer at work. I got well over a month of problem-free use before retiring them.

So I don't see why any soda bottle would give you problems.

Theyre pretty flimsy in comparison to putpose made drink bottles, and won't stand up to much. The lids also dont tend to stay on as well, and can easily leak if theyre not fully done up. They'll do in a pinch, but i wouldnt want to use one all the time.
