Are ovarian cysts suppose to be painful?
I had a cyst rupture on my ovary, after a couple of weeks i was still in pain and a pelvic exam revealed another one.
I am still in a bit of pain especially on my period but my doctor said that it is a "simple" cyst and shouldn't cause pain

They can change in size with the surge of hormones. That's what my doctor told me. I have one on my right ovary and every few months, I don't know why, it will be painful. Mine is also the size of a golf ball, so there's that... But yeah, they can change in size and when they get bigger, they can cause discomfort.

Some small ovarian cysts are supposed to have no symptoms. However, larger cysts can cause you pain during intercourse or menstrual periods. You can even experience pelvic pain or dull pain in your back.
