you can type in a Product Key whenever you want.
what happens is, it will propt you to activate, and ask you for a key.
if you cannot get it to ask you, just go to the Start Menu and look for an Activate link. it will start the process. it sometimes shows up in the taskbar by the time, too, as an exclamation mark on yellow background.
you can also click Start > Run, and type:
msoobe /a
to start the process manually.
