What’s the difference between ?

“ what the author is trying to say vs “ what is the author trying to convey

    Convey is a much better and more accurate word to use. Convey means to put across to the reader. Say is vague and has less meaning.

    Why would the author be trying to say "vs"? Seems to me to be a silly thing to say. "Vs"? Ridiculous.

    The second is a question without a question mark.
