Thank you media for causing a worldwide panic over another version of the flu. You've outdone yourself this time.?

Corona is a mutation of the flu.  Meanwhile, plain, old, run-of-the-mill flu has killed tens of thousands of Americans this winter, but nobody cared.  This Corona panic (I call it "Paranoia Virus") is a convenient excuse to "fundamentally change society."

The is not another version of the flu. The flu is caused by the Influenza virus. There is A and B and a bunch of sub strains. Think of it as a lion. Covid 19 is one form of a coronavirus. An entirely different family or organisms. Think of it as an elephant. While lions and elephants both can kill you they are not the same thing.

Not another version of the flu. That is a poor analogy. The old version was not replaced by the new version. The old version hit us and now on top of that the coronavirus is just now starting to hit. A better analogy is like being hit by two hurricanes in a row.

We are already dealing with the flu and other respiratory infections. At present people who are sick with flu like symptoms with negative flu testing are being tested for the coronavirus and only about two percent of those sick patients have the coronavirus. We are dealing with sick patients with the flu and other viruses and because this virus is just as contagious as the flu and there is no vaccine then those numbers will continue to go up.

Hospitals have to deal with the realities of the principles of epidemiology and need to prepare for the worse. Hospitals will be reducing elective surgeries in order to try and save those beds for sick people in the future.

Precautions are needed in order to control the spread of the flu and other viral infections inclusive of the coronavirus. The closures are necessary to do that where people congregate.

Healthcare workers are at risk and that alone will jeopardize all patients presently being treated at hospitals and clinics.
