Potato PC vs Gaming PC; Open Case?
I know that Gaming PCs tend to run hotter when their case is open.
But what about a black cheap case for a potato PC (with the GT 1030)?
I just want to know before I blow up my PC by testing.
Now I think it is a dumb question : L
But why are potato cases black?

this is false. with an open side panel the pc will get more air so it should run a little cooler, it does depend on the airflow in the case but meh,..... potato computers usually have no heat issues. you can prolly unplug the fans and render a video on them and they will be fine. and u wont blow anything up. everything has temp Sensors and it will thermal throttle before emergency turning itself off if it gets too hot

If you use a case that has good airflow, your temperatures won't be much different between having the case open or closed regardless of what kind of PC is inside.
A "potato PC" can get away with a case that's less well ventilated because it simply isn't going to get as hot if the parts don't need as much power.
If your PC needs the case open to run at acceptable temperatures then you need to get a different case or a better cooling system.
