You're being disingenuous. He's refusing to call it its name -- a conronavirus or covid-19 and calling it China's virus. I don't think this is racism, I think it's intended economic sabotage driven by his petty ego. He hates China and wants to smear them because they lost him 1 billion dollars and a bunch of future earnings in patents in 2017. That's the real reason he started the trade war. This is just more escalation. He gives zero f@cks whatsoever about the pandemic.

None of that really matters.  Trump is a racist and has always been a racist.  That's just who he is.  Racists don't need to feel ashamed of their beliefs or be persecuted for them.  They just need to realize that not everyone agrees with them and they will have to engage the political apparatus if they want their beliefs to inform law and policy.

At present, Trump and several other racists are in power, in all three of the USA governmental branches.  However they are not alone, so the debate over racism continues.

Childish fussing over nuance regarding what a virus was called does not change the fact of Trump's racism, nor the fact that almost half of Americans support his racism and sexism.

The problem with calling it the Chinese Virus is that it ignores the fact that the kind of activity which causes it goes on all over the planet, and is also, for example, responsible for AIDS.
