It’s unfortunate that citizens aren’t proactive enough with crucial issues to even make it an issue.

This notion that a gov't should "fear" its citizens is both disordered & obsolete.  A gov't IS the people.  It's role is not to be force; it is to create a safe & prosperous society for the betterment of all. Too many are caught up in the rhetoric of past centuries.  Realistically,& what I find particularly risible, we see such twaddle from gun-toting Bubba's in the U.S.  They seem not to realise that, despite however many guns they may have, their gov't can from 1000's of Km.s away just send a drone overhead that will easily vapourise their entire house & all its contents from an altitude at which it can't even be seen, much less bothered by their silly gun.

"Thumbdown" loser: Awww ... wassamatta Bubba?  Do you think your pop-gun can shoot down an F-16?

Hakuouki: Are you dim?  "Notion", as in A general idea or impression; a belief or theory, especially if subjective or mistaken.  Wow!  Do you have no idea of the meanings of words?  Are you totally incapable of using a dictionary?  Never made it to the 3rd Grade?
