How come I hear my name from very far away but nobody is actually there a few times a week? Do I have schizophrenia?

Auditory hallucinations can be caused by any number of things. There are many things to rule out before suspecting schizophrenia. Auditory hallucinations are often nothing to worry about.

Do you really think that simply mishearing something or having an overactive imagination is enough for a diagnosis of a severe mental illness? Schizophrenia is a life destroying illness that requires intense treatment with antipsychotic medication with horrendous side effects. At least google the symptoms. I've been hearing voices and having visual hallucinations for over 30 years but still not schizophrenic.
