Can I paint black faux wood beams a lighter colour?
The kitchen in our new house has faux wooden beams which are painted black. I was wondering if any DIY expert knows if there’s a way to make them lighter in colour, to resemble an oak colour to go with the rest of the kitchen. Many thanks

You can. You might also try stripping with a hot air gun.

Yes you can repaint. Test the paint first in a corner to see how it looks when dry. You will find a paint that works.
