Do you think its a bad time to find a job?
Im a 20 year old college student and I've been focusing on school for these past months but recently I decided that I wanted to work again because my savings from previous jobs were starting to run low. I don't have much financial responsibilities and I'm still living with my parents, I was looking and then this corona outbreak happened. Do you think I should move forward and find a job or wait for my safety? Thanks !

I'm sure it will be quite easy to find a job if you look in the right fields. If you show that you are willing to work during hazardous times an employer that is crucial will probably hire you. Online purchases are probably even higher now than when Christmas is in the near future or on Black Friday. I can imagine UPS might need drivers for relief. This is an example of where your willingness to go out there in the public would be useful to the employer. For hygiene purposes, you don't actually need rubber gloves. You could wear other types gloves for hand protection. Definitely stores would hire you as relief to be a stocker (overnight likely) if you are not afraid of the virus.
It is always a good idea to start earning and saving money when you're young and still moochin off of mom and dad. Especially during times like this when even experts cannot say what the post-pandemic economy is going to be like. You might end up be glad you got a job and saved up money. I wouldn't be surprised if property managements hiked rates on apartments to make up for lost profits during this time.
If it brings you any reassurance, I am a local truck driver in Illinois with most of my deliveries in Cook County, and I have not fallen victim yet. As long as you practice good hygiene habits you will be safe. If you took that job as an overnight stocker at a store, just remember to never touch your mouth and nose prior to washing your hands. There hasn't been any proof yet that eye rubbing is a gateway, but it doesn't hurt to avoid that too.
