How often should I clear my TEMP files? (Windows 8.1)?
Hello there, I have a quick question here. I noticed that something was eating up my disk space and so I used disk cleanup which was full of TEMP files taking up tons of disk space. I removed them and everything was fine but I wonder how often I should clear these and if anything important can be lost by clearing TEMP files? Thanks!

Most TEMP (or TMP) files are used entirely temporarily whilst a program is running and have no useful putpose once the program quits.
It is therefore normally 100% safe to delete the TEMP files as often as you wish.
When I was a Systems Manager for our office IT system, everyone deleted all the .TMP files at the end of each day before switching off.

You'll find this interesting : https://fileinfo.com/help/temporary_files.
As it is, there are programs which will do this clean-up for you, such as CCleaner. That's what I use, maybe every day or so, and it does the job fine for me.

Install CCLEANER Free, at least
With a hdd instead of ssd, and using Firefox, the cache overload kills it.
I run it every couple of hours.
cache and temp and old Prefetch and downloads you don't need, just clear when you want. With high speed internet, just as well.
