Summery beers question?

I'm wondering - what are some good beers that are very summery, very bubbly and bright like a summer sprite? Fresh pint of ale kind of vibe.

Good beers are best enjoyed in the summer.  Nothing goes down better than a cold one on a hot summer day.  My personal favourites would include...

    Red Stripe

Bud Light Lime (it's not for everyone)

    Moosehead

    Corona Extra

    Molson Canadian

    Heineken

NOTE:  Beer should always be poured into a chilled glass (cold tap water is chilled enough), and wait for the big bubbles to stop rising before drinking it.  The little micro-bubbles are okay.  I got this tip from a real live German braumeister (master brewer) who worked at Coors Molson, and it works.  It makes every beer smoother and cleaner tasting.

  • Shandy screams hot summer day. Your lighter beers (kolsch), anything made with fruit are also summer classics.

Shandies, lemon-infused beers, are considered a summer drink.

Shandies are always great for summer. I don't know if you're a fruit beer kind of person.

You said nothing about what kind of flavor you want.

Consider a citrus IPA, although beware that lower quality ones can taste like soap.   One of my favorites is a grapefruit IPA called Citrus Mistress brewed by Hop Valley in Oregon.

Just so you know, IPAs have a lot of hops and therefore are not meant to be sweet.  They have a clean, crisp flavor, are not heavy like a wheat beer, porter or stout, but they are refreshing on a hot day despite their bitterness.   They do tend to have a higher alcohol content than a regular beer so beware if you're a lightweight.
