Question about SSD Drives?

If I put windows 10 on the sdd, what is the life span of the ssd?

If I put windows 10 on there will the storage stay the same or will it fill up over time. If it does fill up over time with just windows on there, how does it fill up

The gentleman, micksmixxx is somewhat in la la land with his answer.  The last I read on SSD lifespan is that it's determined by the total amount of writes to the drive and overwrites.  For example, you save a letter you wrote to the SSD.  Then at some point you delete it.  The you download your pictures from your phone, or say you generate a document and the document is written to a space that was previously written to.  So the writes and rewrites is what wears out an SSD.  The good news is that the number of writes and rewrites is in the milliions of times.  So for the normal home user, you're never going to "wear out" an SSD.  In the case of servers though, the write/rewrite process happens many, many times a day so SSD's are not practical there and that is why they use Hard Drives in servers.  So relax, you're not going to kill an SSD with anywhere near normal home usage.  Hope this helps.

It's impossible to give you an accurate answer, sir, from the information that you've given.

What I can tell you is that your SSD will fill up over time as Windows 10 is repeatedly being issued with updates that need to be downloaded onto your SSD.

Thanks that affect the life span of the SSD include such things as the brand and model of the SSD, how many Read/Write functions occur, etc.
