Is $945 after tax a good price for getting the brakes replaced on a 2009 Nissan Versa?

The labour is $205 for the front, as well as $205 for the back. The front pads are $112 and the brakes shoes are $97. Is this an ok price or should I shop around somewhere else?

Dealers always charge top money. They have greater overheads and they are greedy too. Phone around. In the UK we have 'Checkatrade' website that is full of reviews. I am sure you have something similar in Canada.

Soulds like a massive rip off.  You can get a head gasket replaced for that price.

No, I think that is high. They are overcharging the living **** out of you for the pads.

That seems high to me and those prices don't add up to $945 even allowing 10% for sales tax.

Seems to be in the ballpark. Always worthwhile getting  second price, just to be sure that both are quoting for the same work.  More money doesn't equal better but a cheap price may come at the expense of cutting corners.
