Can I clean my oven light bulb? ?

I haven’t used my oven in years I am planning to clean it. There is grease caked onto the  light bulb, would I have to just replace the bulb or can I clean it with the cleaner ?

If it still lights up, EASY OFF on the glass will work. I used that "Noxious" crap for YEARS. It will remove solidified grease.

Probably better off buying a new one rather than take the chance of breaking it. They are cheap. Any hardware store will have one.

You didn't ask - but I'll add an easy way of cleaning the oven shelves. Spray them as you spray the oven. After the set time, remove them from the oven and put them in the laundry sink full of hot (as you can tolerate it) soapy water (the sink is big enough and high enough so you won't get a sore back) Get a barbecue wire bristle brush and scrub away. The wires bristles make the job so much easier - not only do they remove old grease etc, they 'polish' the shelves while you're at it!

Remove the bulb first--then spray with a degreasing cleaner, and GENTLY wipe it off. Then put it back into the socket.

Depends how bad it is. They cost about 50p, so how much of your time is that worth.

You can clean it.  It unscrews like a regular light bulb.  Do that cold and wash off with dish soap and hot water. Grease washes off.   Dry it and screw back in. Done. Or you can go out and buy one...same wattage.

They don't cost more than a buck. It's easier to replace it.

The cleaner will have no effect on glass.
